We embrace action-oriented, driven individuals who will take ownership and bring solutions to the table. This is a wonderful opportunity to build your network and leadership skills, and give back to our Muslim community.

Please complete the attached form and you will hear back from ISNJ.

Committees vs. Volunteers - what’s the difference?

Committees, are a formal body composed of community members (usually 5-7 members) created for a specific purpose to help the masjid operations and community activities and approved by the board. The committee maintains an approved scope of work and plans/executes/reports on its activities The committee has a board point of contact to facilitate any approvals and expenses. To serve as a committee member, you must be 18 years or old and a registered member of ISNJ. The committee members are based on volunteers showing interest in that area of work and can commit 8-10 hours per month.
Volunteers, on the other hand, are not restricted by number or need to be registered. Furthermore, volunteering does not mean a huge time commitment. Even a few hours a month can make a big difference. There are tasks to fit your time schedule and interest. We even have tasks that don’t involve leaving your house so anyone can be involved
For further details on the committees and / or suggestion for a new committee please reach out to one of the board member or to islamicsocietynj@gmail.com
